Kathy is a mainstay of our social dance programs. A graduate of the Nova Scotia Teachers College, she spent 32 years teaching in the school system. Her sense of humour, coupled with her belief that having fun and enjoying yourself is the primary goal of dance, keeps her classes entertaining and eventful.
Janet, a retired elementary school educator, joined Edgett as a student. She quickly became addicted to the joy of music and movement combined and is now passing this on to our students. She brings great enthusiasm and an infectious laugh to helping people learn the basics.
Laurel is a self-identified multipotentialite (a person who has many different interests and creative pursuits in life): she is a part-time yoga and fitness instructor, a part-time university instructor in the field of sustainability, and the Co-Director of foundns.com, Nova Scotia’s first food-rescue organization. A common theme: she is teaching all the time! When it comes to yoga and movement, her passion for variety is evident: she enjoys finding the balance of ease and challenge, stillness and sweat, and quiet introspection within community.
